rnrnWhite Shorthaired goats are dairyrngoats from the Czech Republic. They are the result of selective breeding ofrnnative Czech landrace goats crossed with Swiss Saanen goats in the early 1900s.rnthey were recognized as a breed in 1954-55 and is now found throughout thernCzech Republic.


rnrnWhite Shorthaired goats are similarrnto the Saanen in appearance; they are white and shorthaired. Some strainsrnmaintain the characteristic Saanen's black spots on the skin of the nose,rneyelids, and udder. They have upright ears and most are hornless (75-80%), withrnthe pollness fixed through systematic selection.


rnrnTheir appearance is typical forrnmilk goats, strong but fine boned, deep and long in body, long legged. Averagernfemales weight about 120-150 pounds, height in withers 72-80 cm, heart girthrn85-105 cm, males about 150-190 pounds, 75-85cm in withers and 95-115 cm inrnheart girth. Early mature, first bearing in 12-15 month of age.
