rnrnArabi, also known as Afghan Arabi, Sheep are fat-rumpedrnsheep from Northern Afghanistan. They typically have long pendulous ears; theyrnalso generally have black or white faces. The Arabi rams have horns and thernewes are polled (hornless). They are raised for meat and wool production.


rnrnMost likely Arabi sheep are descended from very ancientrnimportations from Arabia across the narrow Bal-el-Mandeb Straits at the mouthrnof the Red Sea. They have adapted to extreme temperatures and conditions.rnWithin the foothills of Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, summer temperatures risernto 41 °C (110 °F) and winter temperatures down to -26 °C (-15 °F) with lessrnthan 400 mm (16 in) rain.rnrn
