They have a docile temperament, are hardy and adaptable to different farming conditions. They are alarge-sized breed, with cows typically weighing around 1,400-1,800 pounds and bulls weighing around 2,000-2,500 pounds. They are known for their high milk yield with an average of 22,000-25,000 pounds of milk per year and have a good protein and fat content. They are used primarily for milk production and are considered to be a hardy and adaptable breed.
