We found a way to significantly decrease our monthly hosting cost - from almost $700/month to $150/month. This includes the total hosting for our all of our websites and customers websites. And even better, it will allow us to do a better job of offering benefits to our hosting customers.
We expect to complete the transition from our previous hosting solution to the new one within the next month.
Since April 30th, every weekday we have been placing entries on our blog at https://www.livestockofamerica.com/Blog/ and our Facebook page atwww.facebook.com/LivestockOfAmerica/ .
We are now into the second week of the NewChip accelerator (www.newchip.com). The first week was focused on branding. The second week, starting Wednesday, will be focused on building teams, recruiting executives, and creating a strong company culture.
Weekly Highlight: About Livestock Of America
Livestock Of America (www.LivestockOfAmerica.com) is our first online marketplace and our current focus.
Our target audience is livestock businesses that generate between $1,000 and $250,000 / year. These businesses produce farm-fresh eggs for Huevos Rancheros that make your mouth sing; melt-in-your-mouth steaks that you can eat with a spoon; snuggly softest sweaters, and socks so warm that your tootsies will stay warm on Mt. Everest. And they do most of their business at farmers markets and by word of mouth ... and their profit margins stink.
Our mission is to provide ways for small livestock businesses across America to work better together. LivestockOfAmerica.com is predominately a Business to Business (B2B) website. The site helps connect ranchers to ranchers by giving them a detail-oriented classifieds website where they can easily share all of the information on their animals. For buyers that mean one place where they can make informed buying decisions with confidence.
On www.LivestockOfAmerica.com sellers can list up to 15 types of Livestock (Alpacas, Bison, Cattle, Chickens, Working Dogs, Donkeys, Emus, Goats, Horses, Llamas, Pigs, Rabbits, Sheep, Turkeys, and Yaks). In the future we will also be including listings for Honey Bees, and Hay.
Our goal is to both connect businesses within an industry, but also within an industry group. For instance, we help fiber goat ranchers connect with fiber goat ranchers, but also connect fiber-animal ranchers to fiber goat, alpaca, and sheep ranchers.
The site also has an online product market, and a directory of ranch profiles that include mini-websites for each business.
We have been delighted with the response that www.LivestockOfAmerica.com has received so far, and we are just getting started!
